A day in the life of this role: As a Data Scientist in our Data Science team, you will participate in implementing, running, and designing the VerAI AI/ML Mineral Targeting Platform. This Platform is at the core of our innovation, and a critical part of our ability to generate high quality AI Targets that represent the location of concealed economic mineral deposits. You will participate in the operation and implementation of the AI Targeting Platform and will have a lot of freedom in continuously improving its capabilities while maintaining a high standard of reproducible and documented code. Your passion is being hands-on and you are not afraid of getting dirty with new data sets, technologies, or methodologies. You love collaborating with different teams and domains. You will help VerAI maintain a technological leadership in its domain and will represent us in the different data science communities and forums. What we need from you: Must have: 5+ years of experience in software development roles. Demonstrated proficiency in Python development, frameworks, and libraries (3+ years). Extensive experience in operating software in data rich environments. Extensive experience with clean code principles and methodologies. Good understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms. Good understanding of data science methodologies. Some experience processing and analyzing geospatial data. Nice to have: Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS etc.). Experience with data science frameworks (NumPy, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, PyTorch , etc.). Experience using cloud infrastructure and web services like AWS. Extensive data modeling and data architecture skills. A solid understanding of statistics. Demonstrated experience of designing and implementing machine learning solutions to solve similar challenges. Demonstrated excellent technical written, verbal, and presentation communication skills in English.
